The combination of richly whipped potatoes and mushrooms create a perfect texture and side dish to any protein when seasoned to perfection and garnished to impress.
1 Cup Cut Mushrooms
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
1 ½ Pound Baby Potatoes
½ Cup Chopped Shallots
2/3 Cup Select Spice Garlic Sauce
½ Cup Milk
BRAISED LAMB SHANKS
In a large saucepan add olive oil, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. To medium high heat. Add lamb shanks and braise evenly on all sides until golden brown. Once all lamb shanks are evenly braised, set aside.
Place ¼ cup garlic sauce, olive oil, shallots and mushrooms in a sauté pan and cook 10 – 12 minutes until softened and nicely browned. Once sauteed add salt and pepper as desired for perfection.
Place peeled potatoes in boiling, salted water and cook until tender. Once cooked drain water and mash potatoes while adding garlic sauce and milk. Add the 2/3 cup sautéed mushrooms into the mashed potatoes and transfer into a serving bowl and spoon the rest of the mushrooms on top of potatoes and add fresh chives if desired for presentation purposes.
Mashed Potatoes + Mushrooms are absolutely an excellent side dish to serve with roast beef, ham, chicken or pork.
